Prevent Spam Calls to Your Mobile Phone

Register your telephone with the National US Do Not Call Registry to avoid receiving unwanted telemarketing calls.

Have you ever been disrupted by an unwanted call from a marketer when you are watching your favorite TV show or late in the night when you are sleeping?

If so, you’re not alone.

To stop this your first step is to register your mobile phone number with the FCC's Do-Not-Call Registry.

When you've registered callers may only call you when they
- have established a business relationship with you,
- have you prior written permission,
- do not call commercially or do not include unsolicited advertisements.

You can register their residential phone number, including wireless numbers, by Internet or by telephone for free.

In addition to the Do-Not-Call Registry the caller id will also reduce the number of spam calls to your home.

With the caller id you should know when a telemarketer is calling you] because telemarketers have to transmit caller id and do not allowed to block their numbers.

When you register your telephone number with the FCC unsolicited telephone calls to your home before 8 am or after 9 pm are prohibited.
Callers have to provide you with these additional information which will also reduced spam calls to your home:
- Anyone making a telephone solicitation call to your home must provide his/her name.
- A telephone number or address at which you may contact that entity.
- The Caller also have to give you the name of the entity on whose behalf the call is being made.

You can register your telephone number for free. Your telephone number will remain for five years on the national do-not-call list. You may re-enter your number when the five years have passed, and you may remove your telephone number from the list at any time.
